Before launching the timberframe shop I spent years caring for and working in the forest as a state park ranger- developing a respect and knowledge of the environment and best use of natural materials. That experience guides me in my current process and goal to rebuild timber frame structures lost to time on our family farm. I want to leave a legacy for generations to come. When my great grandkids walk into the barn one day and tell stories of how great grandpa built this, I will have made my mark. And so the heartland timber frame company was born.

We specialize in custom post and beam timber frames, handcrafted using traditional tools, time honored joinery, and wood pegs- no shortcuts, no mass production. Each pavilion, pergola, porch, or small structure is designed and built to order, with careful attention to detail. These are pieces meant to endure- functional, beautiful, and worthy of being passed down.
